The Residency
And It's Grounds
The Retreat Houses
The residency takes place across two beautiful traditional houses which have been lovingly refurbished and modernised by Martin Evans Architects. The houses sit at the tip of Panicale Village in the romantic Lunigiana Valley with views stretching across the grounds towards the Apennine Mountains beyond. Seven rooms are available overall, which can be allocated privately or shared to allow up to fourteen visitors at a time.

The Gardens
The terraced gardens, olive groves, and surroundiong woodlands are very much a part of your creative experience. The paved garden terrace provides several vantage points to set up your easel and capture the surrounding wilderness and the large garden shelter gives you space to read or draw in any weather. Spend your days and free time on our beautiful Tuscan hillside surroundings—the perfect setting for meditation, walks, and your creative exploration.

The Studio
We find the Studio in the cantina of the first house; A bright and modern space designed to accommodate up to six artists at any time. We offer tables and desks and portable easels, portable stools for outside work, sinks, storage space, a potters wheel, and a small kiln. That said, artists must bring their canvases, paints, and brushes. If needed, there are some local art shops a 40-minutes drive away in Sarzana.
